As a group, the six MacNeil siblings are widely regarded as one of the greatest live acts in the Celtic world. Hailing from Sydney Mines, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, the family group is deeply rooted in Celtic music, culture and history. Their numerous critically acclaimed recordings have included their own original songs as well as tried and true standards, both instrumental and vocal.

The 2011 Brigadoons

The Brigadoons have been entertaining across Canada, the United States and on cruises in the Caribbean for over 25 years! People in the area have grown up with their music and their children are now doing the same. Denis Carr leads the group and is the longest serving member; Reg Portieous and Dan Leroux keep the sound going with Ashley MacLeod and Pat Kelly added to the mix whenever they are available.

The Brigadoons are still performing that traditional sound and while new songs are being added to their repertoire , they still perform all of the old favourites: Glengarry My Home , The Martintown song , Pipers of Glengarry at the request of their loyal fans.

Gerry Timlin

A great favorite in the USA and Canada, this Pennsylvania based singer has enjoyed success all over the world. He was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, where he developed an early interest in traditional Irish music and in folk music. From the beginning, Gerry displayed a musical talent. He moved to the USA in the early seventies, and has been delighting audiences with his smooth baritone voice and his irreverent humor ever since. All are welcome at Gerry's home-base, The Shanachie Irish Pub and Restaurant in downtown Ambler, Pennsylvania.

The Mudmen

The Mudmen's history is full of high energy Celtic rock sets, performing coast to coast all over North America and Europe. Lately they have become known for their work with world-famous producer Bob Rock on the new Hockey Night in Canada theme, and their performance in Ottawa for the Queen of England when she visited for the Canada Day Celebrations in 2010. Bag-piping brothers Robby and Sandy Campbell add an irreplaceable and unique element to the band's sound, and their image.

The Mudmen's recorded music has been featured on programs such as NBC's The Black Donneley's, and Showtime's Shameless, as well as sound tracks for several video games, WWE's Celtic Tag Team,'The Highlanders', 6 music videos in rotation on MuchMusic, Don Cherry's Rock 'Em Sock 'Em series... Rant Maggie Rant

This five member ensemble brings you a high energy mix of music that is truly "Pan Celtic". Breton An Dros, Galicien Munieras, and Acadien Reels are skillfully delivered along with the more familiar jigs and reels of the Scots/Irish repetoire. Add to this elements of Latin and African hand percussion,Folk/Blues guitar stylings and cheeky vocals drawn from the last four centuries, and you get a sense of why this group has been in demand at major folk festivals, highland games, and concert halls across Ontario, and are constantly gaining momentum in the US.

Rant Maggie Rant is truly on the cutting edge of the modern trends in Celtic music. www.myspace.com/rantmaggierant

Jesse Ferguson

Jesse Ferguson is a Celtic musician from Cornwall, ON, who currently lives in Cape Breton. He plays an energetic mix of Irish, Scottish and Canadian folk music on various instruments. His solo CD is New Old Songs, available from CDBaby. He also posts videos on youtube as "The Bard of Cornwall."

Bob and Ducky

Bob and Ducky have been performing at the Highland Games for the past 5 years. Their love of the traditional Celtic Music lends itself to an atmosphere of easy listening with a unique blend of the old Scottish and Irish favorites. Their style have made them a very popular duo in and around the area. They have recently released a CD featuring a wonderful version of "After All These Years", the title song of the recording.

The 2 Paddy's

Paddy Kelly and Paddy Maher started out in 1999. Since then, they have become a popular duo in celtic music. Both musicians are versatile, both vocally and instrumentally.

The 2 Paddy’s bring a more traditional flavour to their Irish music which include tunes, ballads and some of the usual old Irish favorites. Certainly a duo to relax to and enjoy.

Paddy Kelly plays fiddle, guitar and banjo, along with bodhran and penny whistle on occasion. After growing up in Ottawa, his first “professional” group was the Descendants, (not related to the current Irish Descendants). In 1982, he joined a group called the Brigadoons, a Scottish group from Glengarry County, and was with them until 1997. He currently resides in Glengarry County, Ontario, and continues to entertain crowds for all occasions.

Paddy has also had the privilege of being inducted to the Glengarry Celtic Music Hall of Fame in May of 2007.

Paddy Maher plays several instruments, which include guitar, bass and Irish bouzouki. He has played in a variety of groups – country to blues to rock – but always returns to his Irish roots. In the late 80’s and early 90’s he played as a member of the Ottawa based trio, Brandy N’Port.

The band's philosophy is still the same as when it was formed, to play music that appeals to the masses while sticking to their Celtic roots. Whether it be a quaint Irish Pub or a dance for 3000 people Brandy 'N' Port has mastered the stage.

MacCulloch Dancers

The The MacCulloch School of Dancing was founded in 1955, under the direction of Rae MacCulloch.

Her first classes began with seven students in the kitchen of her sister Sybil Cameron's Glen Roy home. Together Rae, her husband, Alex and her sister, Sybil, laid the foundation for what was to become one of Glengarry's success stories.

Today, Rae's daughters, Heather Forbes and Deborah Wheeler, direct over 500 students in Martintown, Maxville and Navan.

In 1972, the MacCulloch Dancers took their first major trip when they toured Scotland with the Glengarry Pipe Band. Appearances on CFCF-TV in Montreal, CJOH in Ottawa, CBC in Halifax and the John Allan Cameron show followed.

On New Years Day of 1976, Glengarry dancers joined the Rose Bowl Parade in the streets of Pasadena, California. This tour also included performances in Disneyland, California and USA bicentennial celebrations in San Francisco. In October, bicentennial celebrations continued in Philadelphia and Washington.

Over the next 21 years the MacCulloch dancers have performed across the world. Recently they have represented Canada in Disney World, Florida, Idaho and Utah, USA, Puerto Rico and the Republic of China, Spain, Mexico, Belgium and Bulgaria. Other highlights include performances with the NAC orchestra in 2000 and the Nokia Brier in 2001.

The MacCulloch Dancers celebrate Glengarry's rich history through lively presentations of Scottish Folkloric and Canadian Step Dancing. Once again, they will bring their Scottish traditions back to Glengarry soil, as they perform 200 strong, in this year's Tattoo.
