Antique British Car Display
The antique British car display has been a popular feature of the Glengarry Highland Games since 2010. The display is always held on the east mound on Friday from 10 am to 4 pm. If the weather is fine, we can have as many as 50 cars on display. The cars come from the various antique British car clubs in eastern Ontario and western Quebec. In past years we have had Allards, Aston Martins, Austins, Austin Healeys, Bentleys, Jaguars, Land Rovers, Lotuses, MGs, Minis, Morgans, Singers, Spiders, Triumphs and Vauxhalls. So why are British cars displayed at the Games? While it is unlikely that these left-hand drive cars have ever been driven in Scotland (probably a good thing!), right-hand makes and models of these same cars give great pleasure to drivers in Scotland as they motor through the glens. On this side of the Atlantic it is easy to imagine you are in Scotland as you drive an antique British car along the winding roads of Glengarry.
