Guest Drum Major - Emma Barr
The Glengarry Highland Games is honoured to welcome Emma Barr as our Guest Drum Major. A two-time World Champion and All-Ireland Champion, Emma is the current Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Champion of Champions and is the Drum Major the 13-time World Pipe Band Champions, Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band.
Her spectacular drum major skills and flourishing of the mace (ceremonial staff used by drum majors to lead and signal band commands) will be on full display throughout the Games, including performances Thursday at the Tartan Ball, Friday afternoon in Circle One, and the Friday night Tattoo, as well as Saturday in the Massed Bands. Emma has showcased her talents across the globe, from Disneyland Paris to Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End, as well as international tattoos in Germany, Switzerland, and Belfast.

Emma will be conducting a drum major workshop that will take place from at 9:00 - 11:30am on Friday, August 1, 2025. The workshops will focus on marching, drill, flourishing, uniform discipline and musicality. Interested participants can register through Showpass. Your $75 registration fee will include all day admission for Friday, August 1, including the evening Tattoo and access to the scheduled workshops.
Upon registration, you will receive an email requesting more information to complete the registration. The email will be sent manually so expect to receive it within a few days.
